Self Custody
Holding your own crypto in a wallet whose keys only you control, without relying on a company to store it for you.
Self custody means you, and only you, hold the keys to your crypto. There is no company in the middle. No customer service to reset your password. This is one of the most powerful ideas in crypto, and one of the most responsible.
What it means for you
You are your own bank. You choose when to send, when to hold, and where to store your recovery phrase. In exchange, you take on the responsibility of protecting that phrase like the master key it is.
How to do it well
Start small. Learn how your wallet works before moving meaningful funds. Write your seed phrase down offline. Never store it in a screenshot, email, or note in the cloud.
